  • How does acupuncture treat illnesses?

Acupuncture is over a 3,500-years-old medical practice that dates back to the stone age. It was actually found practiced in parts of Europe as well as Asia. It aims to prevent and cure specific diseases and conditions by stimulating specific points in the body which activate the bio-magnetic electric systems and release neurochemicals that help with the pain and conditions.

Diseases are results of impaired Energy 'Qi' flows. Acupuncture works by opening and balancing the channel networks in the body, via stimulation of specifically functioning points. Whatever your condition is, having your acupuncturist assess and diagnose your condition is important in properly treating the disease.

  • Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles generally do not cause pain, and Grace is a gentle acupuncturist. Certain modes of acupuncture such as bleeding or certain points can be more sensorial. Generally, acupuncture is meant to help you relieve pain and relax during the session.

  • What should I do when coming to acupuncture treatment?

It is best to have eaten about 2 hours before coming to the acupuncture session, because acupuncture works with the energy in your body. Getting treatment on an empty stomach can bring unwanted side effects such as dizziness or nausea.

Wearing acupuncture-friendly clothes, such as loose T-shirts and shorts or trousers, would make your visit more comfortable and easier.

  • What is so good about the Far-Infrared Heat Therapy?

Far-Infrared (FIR) Heat Therapy uses the far-red wavelength that penetrates the deep tissues of the body and brings more blood circulation.

FIR is great for sportsmen with muscle fatigue, muscle/tendon injuries, weight loss, rejuvenation, detox, cellular regeneration, cancer-support in raising the body temperature and reducing the masses naturally, boosting the immune system and so much more. Ask for FIR for your session, or even together with acupuncture for better results.

  • How can you help me with mental-emotional problems?

Grace Cho L.Ac. is specially trained in Contemporary Oriental Medicine (COM) & Contemporary Pulse Diagnosis (COPD) locally here in the U.S., which allows her to assess and understand your condition in detail. Grace is skilled in understanding the mental-emotional psyche of her patients, and thus her treatments help many patients.
